Lawrence P. Joseph

D.M.D., FAGD

Dr. Joseph, one of the groups partners, helped establish the group after 20 years managing his own dental practice in Quincy. Dr Joseph’s concept was to offer Boston-area residents advanced and comprehensive dental care at one convenient location. Dr. Joseph shared a vision of comprehensive family dentistry where patients enjoy having all of their dental needs met in one place by a team of highly qualified generalist and specialist dentists who coordinate their care and consult with each other on complex cases. A Tufts-trained dentist specializing in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Joseph has accumulated over 750 hours of continuing education on topics such as prosthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) treatment, ceramic restorations and dental implants. For his commitment to staying current on new dental techniques, Dr. Joseph was awarded the designation of Fellow by the American Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Joseph earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the prestigious Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, and obtained his Baccalaureate of Science from Northeastern University. Dr. Joseph is a member of the American Academy of General Practice, the American Academy of Oral Medicine, the Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity, the Massachusetts Dental Society, the American Dental Society and the South Shore District Dental Society, where he served as chairman of the Ethics and Peer Review Committees. He is also a former member of the State Council on Dental Care.

Jose Camilo Segura

D.M.D., C.A.G.S.

Dr. Camilo Segura is one of the group’s partners. A university-trained prosthodontist, he focuses on restorative and reconstructive dental treatments utilizing both traditional dental techniques such as crowns, bridges and porcelain veneers, as well as advanced technology in implant prosthetics.

With research on biomaterials, occlusion and reconstructive treatment of root canalled teeth, Dr. Segura’s work has been featured in numerous publications, including The Journal of Oral Rehabilitation, The Journal of Dental Restoration and The International Journal of Prosthodontics.  Currently an associate clinical professor of fixed and removable prosthodontics at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Segura previously held a clinical appointment at the Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry and served as an advisor to the Dental Alliance Chapter of the Seattle Study Club.

Dr. Segura has lectured at the Yankee Dental Congress, the International Association for Dental Research and the American Association for Dental Research.  In addition to these impressive credentials, he has taken continuing education courses in dental implants and prosthodontics at the International Congress of Implantology and the Misch International Implant Institute.

Dr. Segura completed a Doctorate in Medical Dentistry and a Certificate in Advanced Graduate Study in Prosthodontics, both at the Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry.  He earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Pontifica Universidad Javeriana, Facultad de Odontologia in Columbia.

Adba Halabi Najjar

D.M.D.

Dr. Najjar, one of our restorative dentists, earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Boston University. Dr. Najjar also holds her Bachelor Degree in Biology and Premed from the University of Massachusetts, Boston.

Following graduation, Dr. Najjar participated in academic teaching at Boston University’s Goldman School of Dental Medicine serving as an instructor concentrating in pre-clinical fixed prosthetics. Dr. Najjar also completed a dental externship by dedicated her skills to the Hyannis Healthcare Center.

In addition to her numerous hours of continuing education, Dr. Najjar maintains professional memberships in both the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society. She is also Invisalign Certified.

Georgios D. Vessiropoulos

D.M.D., C.A.G.S., MAGD

Dr. Vessiropoulos earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Boston University. He also holds Degrees in Dental Laboratory Technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology and Biochemistry from Suffolk University.

Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Vessiropoulos joined the US Army. He was awarded a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) after completing the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) 2-year residency program at Fort Hood, Texas. There are only four AEGD-2 year programs in existence – three within the Federal Government and one with the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.

While in the US Army, Dr. Vessiropoulos received extensive training in areas such as forensic dentistry, combat casualty care, and became certified by the American Medical Association as an Advanced Trauma Life Support Provider. Dr. Vessiropoulos was the first to graduate from the US Army Exodontia program, and he was selected among his peers to attend an Officer’s Week with the General Chief of the Dental Corps in Washington, DC. He separated from the US Army with the rank of Major and his military service includes four Army Commendation Metals, a combat tour in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and tours in Germany and US where he treated American and Allied troops and their family members.

Dr. Vessiropoulos has achieved the prestigious distinction of becoming a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD). Less than 1% of General Dentists have achieved this award. He has accumulated nationally and internationally over 1100 hours of continuing education that span all 9 disciplines of dentistry with more than 600 hours on hands on training. He has been Board Eligible with the American Board of General Dentistry since 2007. His dedicated participation in continuing education and lifelong learning have allowed Dr. Vessiropoulos to be abreast of all technological advancements and techniques, something that reflects in the care that he provides to his patients.

Dr. Vessiropoulos maintains memberships with the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Massachusetts Dental Society, and Metropolitan District Dental Society.

Neil Rosenberg

D.D.S.

Neil Rosenberg, D.D.S. is a restorative and cosmetic dentist who earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.  Prior to dental school, Dr. Rosenberg graduated from Lehigh University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.

Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Rosenberg moved to Nantucket where he raised his family and established his first private practice.  After thirteen years on the island, Dr. Rosenberg moved to Rhode Island and purchased his second private practice in Newport.  In 2015, after fourteen years of practice in Newport, Dr. Rosenberg decided to sell his private practice and join South Shore Dental Group.  He brings with him a depth of talent in restorative, prosthodontic, and implant dentistry.  To further his expertise and deliver exceptional care to his patients, Dr. Rosenberg regularly attends continuing education courses to learn the latest advancements in procedures, materials, and technology.

As the inventor and patent holder of the original prophy cup for the Oral-B disposable prophy angle utilized by dental hygienists during your professional cleaning, Dr. Rosenberg was involved in the product development and manufacturing process.

Dr. Rosenberg is an active member of the American Dental Association and the MA Dental Society.

David Pelham

D.D.S., MMSc

Dr. David Pelham is the group’s periodontist and implant surgeon. He received his Masters in Medical Sciences and Oral Biology, as well as his Certificate in Periodontology, from Harvard University.

Prior to training at Harvard, where he was a predoctoral and postdoctoral clinical instructor and examiner, Dr. Pelham earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.  He received his undergraduate degree in 1990 from Tufts University, where he was President of the American Chemical Society (Tufts’ chapter), tutored fellow students on many subjects and was on the dean’s list.

As a student, Dr. Pelham received numerous distinctions, including the Annual Student Award of the American Academy of Periodontology, the Quintessence Book Award for Research, the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Award, the Northeastern Society of Periodontists Award, First Place in the Third Annual IAMS Scholarship Competition and an Undegraduate Award in Analytic Chemistry by the American Chemical Society.  In addition to an outstanding academic record, Dr. Pelham has significant research experience.  His work has been published in the Journal of Organic Chemistry and Bioconjugate Chemistry,among others.

Dr. Pelham continues to advance his knowledge via continuing education courses on topics such as implants, oral conscious sedation and Invisalign® orthodontics.   He maintains membership in the American Association of Periodontists, the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society.  Outside of the office, Dr. Pelham enjoys spending time with his wife and children.

Jennifer Soncini

D.M.D., C.A.G.S.

Dr. Jennifer Soncini brings 30 years of experience in pediatric dentistry to South Shore Dental Group. Dr. Soncini completed her preliminary dental training at Universidad Central de Venezuela and Boston University School of Dental Medicine. She received her Certificate in advanced Pediatric Dentistry and was granted a Fellowship at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. She also completed a pediatric residency at Tufts-New England Medical Center.

She currently holds the Academic Position of Clinical Associate Professor in General Dentistry and in Pediatric Dentistry at the Boston University School of Dental Medicine.

In 2007, Dr. Soncini became a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
She is now a member of the Examination committee for re-certification in Pediatric Dentistry and an appointed oral examiner for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Her numerous clinical research studies have been published in the International Journal of Pediatric Dentistry, The Journal of the American Dental Association (JADA), Community Dental and Oral Epidemiology, the Journal of Public Health Dentistry, the Journal of Pedodontics, and the journal of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Soncini’s research has been presented at highly regarded meetings of the International Association of Dental Research, and the American academy of pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Soncini served as Director of the Forsyth School Oral Health Program (Forsyth-Kids) and Dental Director of The Chelsea School Dental Center. She has held teaching appointments at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Harvard University AEGD program, and Mount Ida School for Dental Hygiene. In addition, she is credentialed at Boston Medical Center, Cambridge Hospital, and Franciscan Children’s Hospital where she treats her hospital cases.

Her experience in the care and management of children in the dental setting is enhanced by her talents in working with children with sensory and developmental disabilities.
We are fortunate to have Dr. Soncini join our practice to provide the quality of care for children that our adult patients have come to expect at South Shore Dental Group.

Christine Melito

D.M.D., MScD

Dr. Melito earned her Master’s of Science Degree and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Endodontics from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Melito also holds her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University, as well as graduating Summa Cum Laude from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Cardiopulmonary Science.

Among Dr. Melito’s many accomplishments, she was elected into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, which is the National Dental Honor Society. While attending Tufts University, she was awarded numerous Tufts Merit Scholarships for her high academic achievement. Dr. Melito was also awarded the prestigious American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Dental Student Award while attending Tufts University.

In addition to being highly skilled in the practice of endodontics, Dr. Melito has also co-published articles in the American Journal of Physiology and the Respiratory Care Journal. She also maintains professional memberships in the Massachusetts Association of Endodontists, American Association of Endodontists, Massachusetts Dental Society, and the American Dental Association.

Frank Schiano

Dr. Schiano is a specialist in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. He completed his orthodontic training at the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2018. Prior to returning to residency, Dr. Schiano was a Clinical Assistant Professor at Boston University and practiced and taught general dentistry for almost a decade. He completed his DMD degree in 2006 and his Advanced Education in General Dentistry in 2007. He also received his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2014.

The experience that Dr. Schiano has helped shape his orthodontic practice philosophy. He is hyper-aware of the challenges of multi-disciplinary treatment plans and works collaboratively with other dentists and dental specialists to develop a problem list, treatment objectives, and consistent predictable outcomes for his adult patients. He has the ability to combine the Invisalign® clear-aligner system with traditional braces for cases where esthetics is a concern. He also thoroughly enjoys working with and treating children of all ages.

His service to the community goes unmatched. Dr. Schiano worked tirelessly for over five years to help form the Boston District of the Massachusetts Dental Society. A 2010 graduate of the MDS Leadership Institute, he was awarded the Massachusetts Dental Society’s “10 Under Ten” Award in 2011. He also received the 2011 American Dental Association’s Award for International Service for his leadership in Project Stretch, an international pediatric dental service organization, of which he is an active Board member. In 2014, Dr. Schiano was named one of four MDS “William McKenna Volunteer Heroes”.

When not spending time at the office with his patients, Dr. Schiano enjoys yoga, going to the movies, and eating good food with his closest family and friends.

Our hygiene staff is key in helping you stay healthy. The have enhanced training to help maintain those patients with early periodontal disease as well as preventing the onset of periodontal disease.

Dental Assistants

The doctor’s assistant has a broad knowledge and training in both simple as well as complex dental treatments. Their knowledge and expertise contribute greatly to the success and comfort of dental treatment. A wealth of knowledge about their doctor’s procedures, they can frequently assist in clarifying for our patients the complexities of dental treatment.

The administrative staff is responsible for the smooth running of our office and scheduling.
